Description
For your drinking pleasure and wine knowledge this pack contains six bottles of the most remarkable Riesling from Australia and around the world. You will participate in a mini study on Dry styles. Then you’ll be whisked away to taste a couple of off-dry styles as a comparison.
Find out what you want need to discover this variety here. A lot of people think (mistakenly) that all Riesling is sweet. They are often mistaken too that sweet wine is a bad thing! Excessively sweet wine is, but the delicate, off-dry and even fully sweet styles produced in Germany and Austria (and some other parts of the world) are without a doubt some of the most complex wines I’ve ever drunk. In fact, about one quarter of my cellar is devoted to the sweet Stuff.Â
Further enlightenment can be found here where a friend of mine dared say that they all taste the same
The regions featured are Watervale in Clare Valley and Coal River in Tasmania from Australian. Over to Alsace in France, the Wachau in Austria and then the off-dry wines are from the Mosel in Germany and Waipara in New Zealand (near Christchruch).
This is not definitive but it goes a long way toward showing you the many flavours and styles you’ll encounter. The wines are all a bit older too, which lets you look at them without the rawness of youth gnawing at you.
The Wines you will enjoy are:
