Hand harvested Mornington Peninsula Cabernet Sauvignon from Merrick’s oldest vines. An addition of 10% Merlot and maturation in 60% new French oak barriques completes the magic. It takes a special site on the to make a great Mornington Peninsula Cabernet Sauvignon. Clearly Merricks has managed to find such a site.

The 2013 Mornington Peninsula Pinot was handpicked, destemmed and fermentation with a portion of whole berries. Aromas of sweet cherry and plum entwined with earthy notes, rich clove and cinnamon spices. Fine tannins and fresh acidity balance and linger, with a hint of white pepper on the finish.

100% Shiraz makes up Thompson’s Rose Mornington Peninsula. The Shiraz is crushed and the free run juice is taken away without skin contact. The result is a dry, moreish rose with clean acid and lots of character.

This Delatite Yarra Valley Pinot is classic old-school Aussie Pinot. From Coombe Farm you get a mix of famous Pinot clones which have been picked very early. Small batches of wild ferments are transfered to barrique for aging. As a result you get a aromatic, dark and savoury Pinot which is quite elegant.

Delatite offers you an Alsatian inspired Riesling from the High Country of Victoria. Old-vine, organically grown Riesling from High altitude. Quality fruit is hand-picked, whole-bunch pressed and naturally fermented. A portion is transferred to old French oak puncheons to add some extra depth and texture.
Yelland & Papps Vin de Soif Barossa Valley 2016
Vin de Soif is a great name. Vin is Wine, de is of/for (in this context). But Soif can mean thirst, desire, longing, eagerness, and craving. So what I take is that this Grenache based wine is a wine for all occasions. Lighter in style, fresh, flavoursome but uncomplicated and certainly unpretentious.
