For the festive season you need a reliable range of wines that will make your BBQ an absolute hit. This pack is versatile enough to suit any food you throw on the grill and tasty enough to not really require you the put a lot of effort into the food.
Spinifex is a gem of a producer based in the Barossa Valley. Through share farming and good relationships they have access to some great vineyard sites which they use to craft their wines. There is a strong focus on the sandier soils of the Barossa so they make lighter, more aromatic and elegant wines (by Barossa standards of course). Pete and Magali really craft their wines to reflect a sense of place, have texture and savoury qualities. Whats more the wines age remarkably well if you give them a chance.
The pack contains one bottle each of the wines below.
Spinifex Miette Blanc 2013– Textural and floral. Great with fish, salads and white meats.
Spinifex Lola 2012 – More depth and complexity. A lovely white that will stand up to a wide range of foods. I’d love to see it with scampi or similar.
Spinifex Rose 2013 – Very European in its outlook. Textural, floral, savoury, earthy. This will match almost anything you can think of cooking.
Spinifex Papillon 2012 – A lighter Pinot-esque expression of the Barossa. Very soft and aromatic it will go with lighter meats. We are in pork territory here.
Spinifex Miette Shiraz 2011 – Delicious mid-weight and savoury Shiraz. Mmmm grilled spicy lamb.
Spinifex Bete Noir 2010 – Elegant yet densely pack Shiraz. Great drinking here. This is steak country.
