Description
One of our favourite Fine Fellows, Phil Smith of The Wine Depository, and I have come up with a Fine Fellows and Fine Wine event on Monday 23 October between 5.30pm and 7.00pm. It will be held in the Ground Floor Boardroom of Milton House (25 Flinders Lane) for a maximum of 20 participants. Phil’s overview of the event is shown below.
If you would like to be part of the event, which has a ticket price of $50, please drop Phil and I a return email. First in, best dressed. Phil and I will then provide attendees with payment arrangements next week so tickets can be paid for in advance of the gathering.
Discover the wines of Central and Eastern Europe
Do you know that Central and Eastern European countries make wine? Not only do they make wine, but the quality from their top producers is worthy of your attention and a place in your cellar.
So, in a safe place with some Fine Fellows and lovely food, we’ll look at six wines that will open your eyes to this New (old) world. We will taste one white and one red from each of Austria, Croatia and Georgia. Each country has varieties unique to them and therefore offer new flavours and textures to explore for wine lovers.
The Wines
The wine line up will look something like what is listed below. Don’t’ worry so much about the names, just know that I guarantee you’ll find something you love in there.

Pheasant’s Tears Tsolikauri Kakheti 2015
Krauthaker Grasevina (Welsh Riesling) Kutjevo 2014

About Phil and The Wine Depository
I’ve been a wine guy for well over 15 years now. I love it. The Wine Depository is a wine retail and wine events business I started for wine lovers in 2011. TWD allows me to develop a rapport with customers to make sure they drink and experience wine on their terms.
