Description
Like their Bernard is an amazing wine. It uses organically grown Margaret River Cabernet from mature vines in two sub-regions of MR; Quindalup and Wilyabrup. The Wilyabrup portion is air-dried fermentation and the Quindalup portion is fermented on the skins of Bernard to make a Ripasso style wine. All this means is that you have a wine of great depth and balance. It is drinkable right now, I know because I have road tested it already. But I believe this is a wine that will age for the long term because of this seamless balance of flavour, structure and weight.
A family run estate in Margaret River. They have two biodynamic sites in the region. Run as wholistic farms which include bees, vegies, chickens and tree conservation. The wines here are great. Full of flavour, made with love, and very easy to drink.
Margaret River
Three hours South of Perth is this land of Cabernet and Chardonnay. Right on the ocean the climate allows the grapes to mature slowly on the vine. The wine are more powerful in the North and more elegant in the south. The best wines are world class and are priced to reflect this.
Cabernet Sauvignon
The noble variety of Bordeaux’s left bank. Firm tannins, a streak of acidity and punctuated by flavours of cassis, violets, spice and leather. The best examples can age for the long term. Often blending with Merlot, Cabernet Franc or Shiraz will fix the hole Cabernet has in its middle palate.
