No Added Preservatives

There is a difference between organic and no added preservative (formerly preservative free). Organic wines can use Sulphur dioxide (SO2). SO2 is an antimicrobial and antioxidant agent in wine making. It does occur naturally during fermentation. Some varieties are more prone to this. Which means ‘preservative free’ wines aren’t necessarily all that free. Tannins, acid, alcohol and sugar, all naturally occurring preservatives. And they are all are found in wine. As is carbon dioxide which is used in varying amounts in still and sparkling wines.
