Description
This is one of my most popular wines and I know why. There is something special about zero sulphur wines and this has it in spades. Bold flavours, dark fruits, earth. But it is soft and silky with a long finish. I’d happily present this wine at a barbecue or with some lovely Italian cheese.
Part of a collective of Estates that are all located in classic Southern Italian regions. Pipoli is in the heart of Aglianico del Vulture and rolls out crackingly good wine for prices that are amazingly cheap. The tend to please both wine snobs and wine novices without much effort.
Aglianico
Often called the Barolo of the South. It was introduced by the Greeks into Campania and it spread to Basilicata and Puglia. It makes full bodied, well structured and generous wines that age gracefully. Taurasi DOCG and Aglianico del Vulture DOC as the two quality leading regions for this grape.
Campania
One of the truly great regions of the South and steeped in wine history. Fiano di Avellino, Sannio, Taurasi and Greco di Tufo are all appellations that should be household names as they were in the distant past. These sun baked vineyards offer so much to wine lovers.
