Haute Valeur Environnementale or HVE was developed in 2001 by the French Ministry of Agriculture with the goals of increasing biodiversity, decreasing needless chemical use, improving fertiliser and water management. There are 3 levels that can be obtained. HVE is easier to obtain than organics certification and adds in biodiversity, which is adopted in biodynamics.
