I was selling the Red Hill Brewery beers way back in my youth. They always stood head and shoulders above a lot of the beer we were offered at that time. It is great to see Red Hill Brewery is still going strong and making amazing beers that are complex enough for wine drinkers but also easy to drink. No need for long explanations about style or craft.
Scotch Ale
Also Wee Heavy are Strong Pale Ales that have a malt focus with hops playing a supporting role. The alcohol sits above 5.5% and can go a fair bit above that. They are similar to English Strong Pale Ales and Barley Wines. The Scotch Ales go through a longer boil to get caramelised notes and dark colour with full body. The bitterness levels tend to be moderate.
