Description
Pascal Jolivet started life as a negociant in 1982. By sheer quality of his wines his reputation grew and now he has 28 hectare of vineyards across Pouilly Fume and Sancerre.
A beautiful example of Sancerre. Tart, clean mineral and refreshing. There is a charm to this wine with the lifted fruit and floral aromas. Drink over the next few year paired with king fish carpaccio.
Coming as it does in a half bottle makes that an excellent way to start a meal with or as a picnic accompaniment. There is a lot of people who resist half bottles, but don’t miss out on the fun.
Sancerre
The land where Sauvignon Blanc excels. This distinct chalk outcrop in the Loire Valley creates mineral and nervy whites that are capable of long aging. The reds and rose from Pinot Noir can be impressive.
Sauvignon Blanc
Hero to many, weed to many more. Sauvignon Blanc sure does divide people. The pure expression of Sauvignon fruit is a stunning. An exuberant array of tropical fruits with ripe herbs and plant material. It excels in the chalk, clay and sand of the Loire as well as the wonderful vineyards in Bordeaux for dry white and Sauternes production where Semillon curbs its outgoing nature.
