One of my favourite New Years was drinking Champagne all night (and some Gin but shhhh) with two other couples. We drank some great wines and I’ve always meant to do it again. Here is your chance (note you can spread the consumption over a few nights if you’d rather!). They are all GREAT wines with four Champagne and one amazing Franciacorta and one awesome Australian.
One each of the following:
Daosa Blanc de Blancs Piccadilly Valley 2011 – This is classy Australian sparkling wine.
Il Mosnel Franciacorta DOCG Brut NV – Champagne drinkers take note, this will give any NV a fair run for quality.
Larmandier Bernier Longitude Blanc de Blancs NV – A minerally and powerful Chardonnay expression.
J. Lassalle Cuvee Brut Preference NV – Certainly this is one of the most beautiful NV Champagnes I have tasted in a long time.
Pierre Gerbais Reserve Brut Celles-sur-Ource Champagne NV – Distinctive and impressive Champagne from the Cote de Bar.
Cedric Bouchard Roses de Jeanne Cote de Val Vilaine Blanc de Noirs NV (2012) – Burgundian flavours in Champagne… Time to get to know this guy.
