Description
The Eden Road wines all derive primarily from the exciting regions in the ACT/NSW ‘High Country’, namely Canberra District, Hilltops, Gundagai and Tumbarumba. Head winemaker Nick Spencer know what he wants: To making a range of exceptionally elegant and refined wines from high altitude regions. Eden Road has won the Jimmy Watson Trophy which proves they know what they are doing. With access to a superb range of vineyards and a state of the art winery, they are in the perfect position to continue this level of quality and success.
The ’10 Seedling Shiraz is sourced from a single vineyard in Gundagai on rich, red iron stone soils. The vineyard sits at an altitude of 350 meters above sea level and delivers highly perfumed, structural Shiraz. The fruit was matured in both 500 litre old French oak puncheons (60%) and stainless steel (40%). It is fragrant, spicy and savoury. There is plenty of red and blue berry fruits with hints of chocolate, oak and earth. The palate is clean and crisp with lovely acidity and nice fruit at the core. A stunning wine which is just great value.
