Description
Chehalem (Chuh-hay-lum) is a local American Indian word best translated as “gentle land” or “valley of flowers,” which captures a long-standing, almost religious reverence for the land. The Chehalem wines are known for the purity of flavour they achieve in their wines.
Three vineyards of Pinot Gris are blended each year to make a wine that best reflects the vintage and the house style of Chehalem. Sweet yellow peach, juicy ripe pear, key lime, and ruby grapefruit, followed by layers of jasmine, day lily, and rosemary to accent the nose. The palate is rich and smooth, with just enough tangy acid to tether the loosely jointed edges of this wine. Seamless, weighty, and lovely.
