Description
Bold flavours, lemon pulp, toasty oak, brown spice mixed with honey. Powerful up front and long finishing, there is no doubting its Semillion with the streak of acid. A well put together wine that is drinking now and will become more toasty and savoury as the years go on. Perfectly made for matching with a lemon and garlic roast chicken.
The vineyard here was established in 1993 to the classic French varieties including Cabernet, Syrah, Grenache, Semillon and Viognier. They make quite a bit of wine from the land they have and local growers and have earnt the reputation as the number one producer in South Africa.
Franschhoek – A well regarded region 85km from Cape Town. There has been vine cultivated here for over 350 years. A wide range of styles and varieties are produced with an emphasis on red wines.
Semillon – A somewhat shy variety that is most famous for balancing Sauvignon Blancs overt tendencies in table wines and sauternes styles. It found a home in the Hunter where the early picked wines can live for 50 years.
