Description
What is an Espresso Quarantini? A Brown Porter seasoned with dark agave syrup and French Oak chips. It was going to also feature Tequila but it was not to be. Having said that, you can add your own tequila! The Espresso Quarantini is quite moderate in alcohol at 4%. Is smells creamy, toast, smokey, chocolate-coated coffee beans. The palate is light, dry finishing with some sweet characters upfront. The bitterness is low and not really an important aspect of this beer. It is a beer that I think would excel with food. The smokey character would suit a BBQ steak. I am kinda keen to try this with some tequila…

3 Ravens came to life in 2003. If I remember correctly, it was originally a tiny brew set up for an Engineering firm. But they loved the beers and turned them in a commercial product. Their original brewery used to shop with me so I was an early supporter, but the beers have changed a lot since then. They are one of the best ranges of beers I have tried. Oh and the 3 Ravens Juicy is probably my favourite beer to drink.
Porter
Before malty was fully understood, there were no pale malts. Therefore, all malt was brown or black. This is quite possibly what all beer looked like at one point in time. The modern style is dark, but soft beers, generally not as alcoholic as stout, and not nearly as bitter or roasted. They can often be quite creamy, and easy-going. The sweeter styles are a great way to introduce people into beer.
