Description
Although this is only Zabu’s 5th year of operation they are already kicking goals with lovely wines. Not surprisingly since they are part of a bigger group that make some of my customer favs including Pipoli. Expect easy drinking wines with bags of flavour and you won’t be disappointed.
Ripe and rich. Currants, aniseed, plums and a hint of prune. Chocolate notes a touch of oak and you’ve got yourself a lovely wine. Juicy on the mid-weight palate with long length of flavour. Yum. Take a few bottles to a BBQ and you’ll be a popular person.
Sicily
In a constant tussle with Puglia to win the title of largest volume produced each year, the wines of Sicily are as varied as its history. Delicate whites, full bodied reds and of course Marsala show the variation in climate and abilities of the various regions within the Island.
Nero d’Avola
Sicily’s boldest red grape. It is capable of getting very ripe, is very charming but can lack acidity. It is often blended with other varieties to balance out its exuberance.
