Description
A wonderful organic vineyard based in the Henty region of Western Victoria. They specialise in making great cool climate Cabernet.
Elegant, violets, plums and currants with a hint of pepper and earth. There is some soft tannin, jubey fruit and great length. Just what Cabernet should taste like.
Cabernet Sauvignon – Known for making some of the longest living wines in the world. Cabernet Sauvignon calls the Left Bank of Bordeaux home but has travelled all over the world. Making high tannin, high acid reds that are still remarkably elegant. A quirk of Cab Sauv is it often shut down between two and seven years of age and is best avoided at that time of life. It is also known for having a hole in the mid palate so blending with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Petit Verdot or Shiraz is quite common.
Henty – A large appellation in South Western Victoria that has produced some of Australia’s greatest Rieslings. Mixed results with Pinot Noir, Shiraz, Cabernet, Chardonnay and more have meant that it does not really rate on a lot of peoples wine radar.
