Description
This estate was established in 1849 by Franz Peter Buhl. At the start of the 20th century, Von Buhl wines commanded higher prices than top Bordeaux or Burgundy! Yet, as with the vast majority of German wine producers, this Estate slumped in the 70s and 80s, underperforming despite having some of the best vineyard sites in the region. Over the last fifteen years, Von Buhl has managed to return its wine quality to the highest levels. The Estate’s impressive portfolio of vineyards is principally located in the villages of  Forst and Deidesheim. The vineyard specific wines are very impressive while the entry level Qba is ridiculous value.
2007 was a wonderful vintage for Pfalz and Von Buhl has made the most of it. This wine is densely packed and tight. It is just coming around but it won’t be until 2023 that it really shows its class.
