Ridgeview was started in 1994 in the South Downs of England (yes, England, UK!). With advice from Champagne producers in Epernay they selected clones that would suit their ridge of limestone and sandstone soils. The vineyard is in a rain shadow and the summers are comparatively hot (for England) which helps them create some truly impressive sparkling wines.
This is Ridgeview’s signature blend. Chardonnay dominant with hints of Pinots Noir and Meunier. As you would expect from a Chard dominant blend it is very crisp and zesty with lots of citrus, melons and hints of honey and toast. There is a nice amount of body on the finish which is what the Pinots contribute. This is a wine that would reward further cellaring.
