Two gentlemen with plenty of years experience making great wine. Since 2000 they have made a great name sourcing fruit from trusted vineyards that they know consistently produce great fruit and crafting enjoyable wines. The Riesling in particular are great value, offering the classic Clare style that will age very well.
Amazing wine. Re-released and stunning value. Bold, aromatic and just starting to show some age. It is still holding on to the ripe primary fruit of its youth and the savoury elements a poking their heads up. I’d heartily recommend you buy a lot of this because it is too cheap. Buy some to drink over summer and more to cellar for another 5-10 years. The wine stood up to salumi, duck liver parfait doughnuts and a prawn tartare at Pei Modern, it’ll match a wide range to be sure.
Riesling – One of the world’s most noble varieties and known transmitter of terroir. Riesling is an important variety for quality wine production although only makes up approximately 4% of the planted area. Wonderful wines are found in Germany, Austria, Alsace and Australia. They can be as dry as any wine you’ll taste or super sweet and luscious. It is a wonderful grape. See more about Riesling here.
Clare Valley – One of the great wine regions of Australia. Known for its boney, citric Rieslings that build flesh with bottle age – a classic Australian style. It can also make some lovely Shiraz and Cabernet.
