Description

Alsatian wine is a bit of a mystery to most people. Like a lot of the wine world it is a matter of finding a producer who is consistent and quality focussed to lead you into the maze. Hugel can do that job admirably. With holdings in some of the most amazing sites of Alsace and a willingness to chase quality above all else the out put of this Estate is something to behold.

Gentil is the classic entry level Alsace blend featuring Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Sylvaner and Gewurztramier mostly. The idea is to make a textural and aromatic wine that has intrinsic harmony and therefore is happy in any drinking occasion. Quite floral and stone fruited with a dark stone edge and a hint of lees. The weight and flesh on the palate are really the hallmark with a hint of acid and spice to add some savouriness.
