Description
The Greenstone story is fascinating to hear but the wines are just delicious! The Greenstone project brings together wine experts from three countries. They have been willing to experiment in the search of quality. The Heathcote
‘greenstone’, a form of copper-infused basalt, is an integral part of the soil and gives the vineyard its name. The resulting wines are not the typical blockbuster-style of Heathcote.
The Sangiovese is the result of experimenting with numerous clones and the wine is one of the best examples in the country. This is their entry level Sangio, the Rosso di Colbo is a reference to Rosso di Montalcino the ‘second label’ of the beautiful Brunello di Montalcino wines. It had all of the cherry, earthy and hint of meat and oak characters with the clean and dry elements celebrated in Chianti. Drink now or after 2020.
