Description
This is one of the leading examples of Greco di Tufo. Viognier like with peach and apricot. There is a nice weighty palate with hints of lees. Nice acid drive to keep it all fresh on the finish. Drink over the next 3-7 years. Pair with scallops.
Located in the beautiful and fascinating Campania region, Feudi Di San Gregorio is at the forefront of revitalizing this historic winemaking area. The first winery from Campania to achieve two stars from Gamberro Rosso for their 20 Tre Bicchieri awards, Feudi di San Gregorio has affirmed its place among the Italian wine-making elite. From the Sorbo Serpico region in Campania.
Campania
One of the truly great regions of the South and steeped in wine history. Fiano di Avellino, Sannio, Taurasi and Greco di Tufo are all appellations that should be household names as they were in the distant past. These sun baked vineyards offer so much to wine lovers.
Greco
An old Italian variety possibly of Greek origin (hence the name). There is actually Greco Bianco and Greco Nero. The white being shortened to just Greco. The wine is recognised for quality within a handful of DOCGs and numerous DOCs. Very late ripening and therefore prone to hazards. The aromatics and phenolics often draws comparisions with Viognier.
