The Mortets are related to the famous Rousseau family and like the Rousseaus they oversee a stunning Gevrey based Domaine. The wines typically show great concentration and power with nice elegance.
The vineyard name Les Longeroies probably comes from the old French, meaning “to furrow”. It is the star climat of the AOC and has been earmarked for promotion to a 1er Cru.
“This is also attractively fresh with distinctly earthy and notably cool red pinot fruit that introduces round yet well-detailed middle weight flavors that are shaped by relatively fine tannins on the complex, vibrant and utterly delicious finish.” 87-89 points, Burghound.com, Issue 45
