The Mortets are related to the famous Rousseau family and like the Rousseaus they oversee a stunning Gevrey based Domaine. The wines typically show great concentration and power with nice elegance.
1998 was a structured year and due to the density of fruit Denis Mortet achieve this wine is all the better for it. The typical dark fruits, mineral and muscle of Gevrey shines through and it is at an age where the palate is taking on that silky edge. This is drinking well from now.
