Tasty, oaky, bright almost Cabernet like (I suspect they snuck in some Cabernet to the blend) in its structure which means it is almost too good to be called Merlot. Oh, did I say that? Have it with roast pork.

Coonawarra – One of the classic Australian wine regions. The famous cigar shaped strip of red Terra Rossa soils are where many wine drink have cut their teeth and so a lot of people have soft stop for the full and rich reds of the region. Quality Riesling and Sparkling red can be made here too.

Merlot – It gets a tough time most of the places it is grown. But in Pomerol and Saint-Emilion Merlot not only dominates but makes some of the best wines in the world. Perfume, silky and plush. Cabernets Franc and Sauvignon season the wines with structure and acid but in some places, like Petrus they are almost not needed.
