Description

A white blend made up of 60% Greco and the rest Fiano. The winemaking has been kept simple to retain the natural beauty in the grapes. Fresh, floral, clean, bright, jubey, a hint candied. The palate has nice flesh, clean finishing with just a hint of lees and bitterness. This is a lovely wine that is drinkable now. Pair with burrata or mozzarella.

Part of a collective of Estates that are all located in classic Southern Italian regions. Pipoli is in the heart of Aglianico del Vulture and rolls out crackingly good wine for prices that are amazingly cheap. The tend to please both wine snobs and wine novices without much effort.

Vulture – The quality focused Northern point of Basilicata. Situated near an extinct volcano the soil is mineral rich. Most famous for sturdy reds from Aglianico.

Greco – An old Italian variety possibly of Greek origin (hence the name). There is actually Greco Bianco and Greco Nero. The white being shortened to just Greco. The wine is recognised for quality within a handful of DOCGs and numerous DOCs.  Very late ripening and therefore prone to hazards. The aromatics and phenolics often draws comparisions with Viognier.

Fiano – Historically important white variety. Now almost exclusively from Campania. Very rich and complex wines with ability to age. Tends to be quite rich and phenolic.
