Description

Marcarini have been making wines from the Piedmont region since the 1800s. Their quality is second to none. While the Barolo and Barbaresco are outstanding and age worthy, their is great value to be found in the ‘lesser’ appellations and varieties they work with.

This wine is made from their younger vines from the famous Cru’s of La Morra and Montaldo. Lasarin shows typical Nebbiolo fragrance, finesse and freshness. Naturally this young wine is rather tannic at the moment, but it will develop stuffing and weight with time in the bottle. Serve now with some mushroom risotto. Drink 2023 and beyond.

Langhe – A recent ‘catch all’ addition that allows greater flexibility to producers in the established DOC & DOCG regions (such as Barolo and Barbaresco). Used by producers wanting to blend native with international varieties, experiment with aging lengths and newer wine making practices.

Nebbiolo – Famously producing long lived red wines which are light of colour, but abundant in tannin from Barolo, Barbaresco and various other local wines. This is the variety that defines the region. Typical flavours include: Tar, roses, anise, cherry, blackberry and truffle.
