Description

The history of the Chateau du Cros is closely linked to that of the Province of Guyenne, and began in 1196 when Richard the Lionheart gave a fief, the Domaine du Cros, to Sir Boson Casau. Made from 80% Semillon, 15% Sauvignon and 5% Muscadelle, this is a charming and perfumed sweet wine with a clean finish. Serve it with cheese or a lighter dessert or even at the start of the meal. Versatile and also able to be left open in the fridge for casual sipping.

Loupiac

Within the great ocean that is Entre Deux Mers, Loupiac is 350 hectares of vines that is perfect for botrytis white wines in the style of Sauternes. The wines aren’t as finessed and don’t age as long but do offer outstanding value for immediate consumption.

Semillon

A somewhat shy variety that is most famous for balancing Sauvignon Blancs overt tendencies in table wines and sauternes styles. It found a home in the Hunter where the early picked wines can live for 50 years.

Sauvignon Blanc

Hero to many, weed to many more. Sauvignon Blanc sure does divide people. The pure expression of Sauvignon fruit is a stunning and exuberant array of tropical fruits with ripe herbs and plant material. It excels in the chalk, clay and sand of the Loire as well as the wonderful vineyards in Bordeaux for dry white and Sauternes production where Semillon curbs its outgoing nature.
