Description

This 22 hectare estate lies next to the town of Barolo and bottled its first wines in 1910. 16.5ha are currently planted to vines in either DOC or DOCG certified areas. Some of the vineyards can be traced back to 1885.

The Northern style of Dolcetto. Dry, compost, spice and cloves. Very earthy. The palate was dark, earthy with a stoney minerality. Nice structure too.

Alba – An ancient city at the heart of the region and its centre of trade. It is also the region that gives its name to quality Dolcetto, Barbera and Nebbiolo.

Dolcetto – Meaning ‘little sweet one’, it is capable of producing some fragrant and pretty wines with slight bitterness. Also capable of punching above its weight with tannins. Tastes of red berries, floral notes and spice.
