Description

Not a blend I can recall ever tasting before but an absolute winner. There is a fine dance between the bold stone fruits and richness of the Chardonnay with the shy Aligote mineral, meal and tangy poking through. There is a hint of oak and grilled nuts to add extra dimension and on a palate that is well balanced and satisfying. I would serve this with comte and drink it over the next couple of years.

A family run estate in Margaret River. They have two biodynamic sites in the region. Run as wholistic farms which include bees, vegies, chickens and tree conservation. The wines here are great. Full of flavour, made with love, and very easy to drink.

Margaret River

Three hours South of Perth is this land of Cabernet and Chardonnay. Right on the ocean the climate allows the grapes to mature slowly on the vine. The wine are more powerful in the North and more elegant in the south. The best wines are world class and are priced to reflect this.

Chardonnay

The grape that you can plant anywhere, in any climate and do anything to and it will still taste like an OK wine. When people hit the sweet spot of site, climate, cropping and winemaking, Chardonnay becomes a magical wine that will age gracefully but charm you at any age. Chardonnays can range from cool climate lean and citrusy to warmer climate tropical and overt. Oak and lees can add flavouring as can malolactic fermentation.

Aligote

A variety that shares the same parent as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir but not their glorious outlook on wine. Making mealy, lean, mineral and citric wines that tend to lack fruit. There is no great Aligote, perhaps because the best terroirs are planted to Chardonnay.
