Description

Southern Italian variety Negroamaro has a flavour spectrum of its own but offers a lot for lovers of Australian Shiraz or Cabernet. This is a lighter style with great freshness and vibrant fruit. Soft tannins and juicy fruit make a nice drinking wine. Great with spicy antipasto, pepperonata or even grilled tuna steaks. Drink it over the next two years.

On the splendid Ionian coast, in Leverano, in the heart of Salento, ‘’Don Cataldo’’ and ‘’Vignali Grandi’’ estates, set on 80 hectares, offer quality and prestigie to the Rocca business.
The land is an average blend of clayey-calcareous soil. The influence of the sea together with modern technologies and passion in management allow a constant production of an excellent level.
The native vines Negroamaro and Primitivo are the stars of the show here.

Puglia – Producing wine since at least 2000BC, the flat coastal shelf Puglia, facing North East toward Greece, has so much history and cultural importance. The vineyards were wiped out by phylloxera in 19th century and an industry chasing quantity was re-established and only recently has that been addressed. 80% planted to red grapes, Puglia makes the most sweet wine of any Italian region.

Negroamaro – Not so bitter but definitely black, this grape from Puglia can make dense, powerful reds or delicate and pretty rosé.
