Description

This wine tastes like what the region looked like when I drove through, pure, clean, relaxed, snow covered. Pillowy pears, white flowers, chalk, pure, mineral hints of butter. Light, racy, white chocolate, tangy acid in the mango spectrum. There is an echo of perfume on the finish that is just lovely. Overall cleansing and on the neutral side in the most beautiful way. Do not age it, just enjoy for it’s purity now. It’s hard to think of this with anything but a raclette fondue.

This domaine is consistently ranked amongst the very best estates in the Savoie. Rather than resting an their laurels with a market which has the capability to consume most, if not all of the regions production locally. Andre, Michel and now the next generation Guillaume Quenard work tirelessly to exceed expectations and deliver wines of alpine precision and refreshing drinkability. Most of their vineyards cling to the steep south facing slopes around the winery in the village of Tomery where it has excellent drainage and sun exposure.

Savoie

An alpine region with vineyards that run up hillsides. The varieties tend to be unseen in other parts of the world. The wines are light, aromatic, fine boned. The best are extremely charming.

Jacquere

Along with Roussanne are the white variety of Savoie. Jacquere is high yielding and often quite neutral. There are some stunningly aromatic versions available though.
