Let us explore Tasmania
March 19, 2016 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
$20Over the last 4 and a bit years we’ve tasted our way through most of the great regions, varieties, producers and styles of the whole wine world. And we’ve even tried some of the wackier ones too.
One place we’ve not explored but has had a special place in my heart since my honeymoon in 2007, is Tasmania.
The little state south of us punches well above its size when it comes to beautiful wine. Sparklings, Pinot Noir and aromatic whites all excel here. There is now a lot of established and family run vineyards that have started to make their own wine or find a talented wine maker that will express their unique site to its fullest.
It’s an exciting time and so let’s come together to taste some of these small producers who are making outstanding wine. The producers will represent the classic areas of Tamar Valley, Coal Valley, Freycinet and also a few less conventional places too.
What to Expect at this tasting.
You get to taste at least 8 wines with myself and Colin, a Frenchman with astounding knowledge of Tasmanian Wine.
There will be cheese and charcuterie to nibble on while we taste.
I have two goals for these events. 1. To drink lovely wine. 2. To educate people on the wine world and demystify it.
The environment is casual and friendly. There is no need to know anything about wine and you are welcome, nay, encouraged to ask as many questions as pop into your head.
You can bring as many friends as you can muster.
All for the bargain price of $20 per head.
